Bill Ng
Bill Ng originally from Massapequa New York is a graphic Designer for CBS3 in Philadelphia. He has worked at ABC-TV in New York and received Emmys for his work on the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. A graduate of Pratt Institute, Bill combines his design skills in digital media with photography. Add a cross cultural upbringing of being a first generation Chinese-American and a wry sense of humor for reflecting the disappointments and joys of life, and you are now ready to view his work.
The artist speaks about dichotomies of growing up: "My father, working in the commonly confined occupation of Chinamen, cooked and laundered to support me and my four brothers and sisters. Not unlike other first generation Chinese Americans, we brought Twinkies in lunch boxes to school and came home to dinner of bowls of rice with chopsticks. The images you see are statements of my life. They portray my parents' emphasis on academic accomplishments as they do the injustices and joys in life and love. My work may offend some and delight others. Yet the purpose is not to please the viewer or to conform. It is simply a true expression of my personal thoughts and emotions."
